Nate’s class makes the Record Courier

St Pat students collect pennies for St. Jude’s.

During Catholic Schools’ Week, the classes at St Patrick School in Kent competed against each other to collect the most pennies as a service project. The eighth grade, a class of 28 students won by raising an average of $5.94 per student. The class selected St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to receive all money collected, totaling $851.47. Representing the eighth grade are, from left, Anna Gruber, Jacob Schettler, Nate Giunto, Grant Kersh, Matt Perison, Allison Bailey, Gia Broska and Mogan Thorn. St Patrick School participates in the Math-a-Thon each year to raise money for the hospital by completing math workbooks for donations.
